Dr Caroline Reed graduated from University College Hospital in London in 1981. She was appointed Senior House Officer in Infectious Diseases at South Middlesex Hospital in West London in 1983 then held Registrar and Senior Registrar positions in Microbiology at University College Hospital, Westminster, St Stephens Hospitals and St. Mary’s Hospital. Caroline came to Melbourne with her family in 1993 and sat the FRCPA exams in 1994.
Caroline joined Dorevitch Pathology in 1994 as a Medical Microbiologist and was Head of Department from 1998 until 2007. Caroline was involved in teaching medical students and microbiology registrars and gave lectures to nursing staff, general practitioners and specialists throughout Victoria. Caroline also sat on a number of Infection Control committees at both private and public hospitals.
Since its inception in late 2009, Caroline has been one of the supervising pathologists at Pathology Victoria.
