Dr Hock Wah Kua graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1995. He commenced training in histopathology at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1996 and was appointed as Specialist Registrar in Leeds Teaching Hospital in 1999. During his time there, he worked and trained with renowned Professors Dixon and Quirke in the field of gastrointestinal pathology and Dr Wyatt in hepatobiliary pathology.
Hock is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, UK and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. He is a Member of the American College of Gastroenterology, International Member of the American Gastroenterology Association and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
Hock has participated in oral poster presentations in Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland and was a consultant pathologist in the UK and Auckland before coming to Melbourne in 2006 where he joined Dorevitch Pathology as a general pathologist.
Since its inception in late 2009, Hock has been one of the supervising pathologists at Pathology Victoria.
